I. Overview of the Dafen Fine Art Industry Association
The Dafen Fine Art Industry Association was spontaneously formed by Dafen-based art merchants and art practitioners. With the care and support of leaders at all levels in Longgang District, Shenzhen, it was officially established during the first Shenzhen International Cultural Industry Fair in November 2004.
The Association’s main functions are to unite artists and art-business operators from all over the country who work in and around Dafen Village, to actively implement Shenzhen’s “Culture-Powered City” strategy, to take serving its members as its purpose and leading the industry’s development as its mission, to give full play to the Association’s role, to forge ahead with a pioneering spirit, to be pragmatic and innovative, and to comprehensively promote the transformation, upgrading and healthy development of the Dafen fine-art industry.
Over the past ten-plus years the Association has conscientiously fulfilled its functions, paid close attention to members’ rights and interests, actively participated in public-welfare activities, given play to its role as a bridge and link, and guided the healthy development of the industry. It advocates taking originality, innovation and creativity as the core of industrial development, broadens development channels through cross-boundary integration, diversifies industrial formats, enhances and actively promotes Dafen’s new image, and “goes global while bringing in”, so as to advance the sound development of the industry.

II. Dafen Fine Art Industry Association Intellectual Property Protection Workstation
To safeguard the lawful rights and interests of enterprises and artists, to improve their innovation capacity and competitiveness, and to give full play to its role as a bridge and link, the Dafen Fine Art Industry Association Intellectual Property Protection Workstation will, by strengthening self-discipline, help enterprises and artists raise their self-protection level. It will provide:
Rights-confirmation services: applications for digital filing certificates of copyrighted works and for copyright registration certificates;
Rights-protection services: online infringement-clue monitoring and evidence fixation, takedown of infringing products, commercial mediation of copyright disputes, similarity-comparison appraisals, and other legal services.
